Good on you for closing the card. I would not put up with being treated like that with any company I do business with and the only reason they continue to do those kinds of things is precicely because there's enough people who DO put up with it.
Imagine if you went to a grocery store and had one of their workers following and recording you with asking you "are you going to pay for that?!" and talking down to you like you intend to take something without paying.
Plenty of other places you can go shopping... there's no need to put up with that from anyone.
