While I agree that my CU at least has a horrible reward structure, but the reward structure is also the same for checking account debit cards as it is for their CCs.  But to offset that if I was going to carry a balance for a while for whatever reason the lower APR would mean much more to me than getting reward points at 23%.  Many members here do everything they can to maximize their rewards, but most of the general public doesn't.  They use the card when they need to or if they want the Visa/MC protection on it.  Wait for the statement to come in the mail and then pay it.  I've got two or three more cards I want to have in my wallet, then I'll do almost nothing and have a CU card in my wallet for anything I really need that I'm not paying for immediately.
