A lot of GE cards are retail cards. If you happen to shop at those stores, there's usually a 12-24 months 0% apr promo if you finance the purchase on that card. That's probably the biggest reason why people get GE cards.
The Carecredit is a nice very card too that gives 12-24 months 0% interest on medical related expenses.
+1
If you own a home, app for the Lowe's card. It's issued by GE, and offers your choice of 5% off at the register for all purchases or x months at 0% for purchases over y (usually 6 months / $299).
i HATE their website, but the discount is awesome and they give CLI with SPs.

Worth is always highly subjective regardless of topic. You can't poll to determine what's worth it to you. You're going about it backwards. Select based on your specific needs/wants. GECRB's products aren't worth it to me and that's why I don't have any. As with any subjective matter, YMMV.
Takeshi,
Christopher Columbus discovered America in 1492. But America was always there all along.
IN regards to worth you are absolutely correct that it is subjective based on personal wants and needs. However with outside influence it could create new demands or new knowledge. Of course this forum is not a market wide survey platform and shouldn't be used for such. And even if 10,000 people presented their ideas it shouldn't be used as fact.
Having said that I was hoping to see if there is a Christopher Columbus in here that could spark new discovery for a rather old topic.
Thanks everyone. I like the 0% interest gambit to apping for GE. Unfortunately most of the cards I hold now have 0% interest. I"m not quite certain if another 0% plastic will provide greater benefits. Keep in mind I have no current revolving debt so having another card won't lower my UTIL.
If GE were to offer a cash sign on bonus that would be the best case. Otherwise having a dormant card at 0% would be of little value.
GE backs more than a few retail store cards, and its always good to have a relationship with a company that controls a large portion of the retail card market.
0% interest for 6+ months is not a bad thing and why tie up your major credit card with a 0% percent interest deal that was available on a GE backed store card.
GE CLI's are awesome they like to be used, you can get a CLI with 10 or 50% UTL on the card, use the card ask for CLI, heavy use can get you a big CLI and GE definition of heavy use of its cards isn't all that heavy, use 50% of your CL and pay it back in a month and they are happy, my Sam's Club store card went from $800 to $4800 at my first CLI, used it for about $200-$400 and paid it a few times over the period at the 10 month or so it went from $4800 to $9600 still $200-$400 use pattern. 14 months from the date it was opened they upgraded me to the discover version and a 10k CL. Treat GE right and there cards will end up being some of your highest limits.
GE Walmart and Sam's club card offer $20-$100 over the amount of purchase at there respective stores, no cash advance fee, no special rates just treated like a regular purchase for the most part.
Amazon has conditionally running 0% interest deals, just purchase over a certain amount and get the 0 percent deal, I have had there card for 20 months now usually carried a balance never paid a dime interest thanks to 0 percent promotions, Amazon is generally some of the best prices on the net, not always the best but never off by much on new stuff.
Some of GE's cards can be upgraded to national credit cards (VISA, DISC), and when it happens they also come with the nice CL that they gave you. Chase won't complain you don't have experience with higher limit cards if you have a Walmart Discover card with 6K CL when you apply for CSP
I am dying to get back in with GE after burning them in BK but Im only at 10months post discharge. Im hoping at some point they will let me back in...
Jamesdwi, do you know which GE product carries a VISA logo?
I know of only one ..GE/Old Navy.
You got me sold on this part..

Old navy is the one i know of as well, i am not researching any more GE cards, i have 4 that is enough ;-) (recovering AP addict) i passed the A rating on CK "Total Accounts" test 6 cards ago and my latest card hasn't hit the reports yet...
Discover isn't much of a problem for me most major retailers take Discover, and my 2 highest limits are both Discover cards.
