Why the push for Business CCs

Over the past week I've called/e-mailed Citi, BoA, and WaMU for various issues and things...all of them asked me at the end of the call, "do you own your business or make a lot of business purchases on your CC for work? According to you spending patterns and past history you qualify for blah, blah, blah" (e.g. Professional Card, BoA Business Visa w/ Rewards, etc.).

Anyone else have a similar experience?

The Business credit portions of these companies are very profitable-

Re: Why the push for Business CCs

I have an Amex Gold account for business and an Advanta Platinum MC, it's interest rate is fixed at something crazy like 7.9 or 8.9% and came with 0% APR promo and has cash back rewards. There is also a love button for CLI on the site and they have been very generous with them. I like to use the Gold card for my everyday purchases and the Advanta for large purchase b/c neither shows up on my CR and therefor doesn't effect my utility while i try to get it under 9% for summer.

Current:
TU (5/14/14): 796 (Inquiries; 8/23/13)
EQ (3/23/14): 791 (Inquiries: 8/23/13)
EX (9/24/13): 780 (Inquiries: 7/2/12; 11/20/12; 7/30/13; 8/23/13)

Goals: No new inquiries for 2014, 800 for all CRs by 12/31/14
