I know AMEX has a habit of trying AA if you spend too much and then only pay the minimum for a couple months.

What does AA mean? How much spending would be considered too much and how many months of paying the minimum would raise a red flag? I have so many questions! Robot Very Happy

AA = Adverse Action

Tbh, as long as you are paying your bills, your cr is solid- you shouldn't fear an AA/FR

Face it we all know Amex is not a long term balance carrying lender

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Correct, as long as you are paying your bills you should be fine. All I am saying is don't rack up $7K and then pay the minimum. Just like Myjourney wrote, you dont want to carry a balance for awhile. AMEX is great for a large initial CL and great for a large purchase you are going to pay off within a month or two.

Agreed that the internal limit changes, but to reiterate, you can always call a CSR to see if a purchase will clear or ask for an account services rep if you need to discuss your internal limit.
