Will I Get Approved- Amex Platinum

Just got a zync.

Ex score 658

AAoA 3.3 years, oldest 12 yrs old

6% utilization, 18k available credit.

4 total late payments, 2 court collections

Everything else is perfect within last 3-4 years

Would love the platinum perks, just not sure if the low utilization can make up for sub 700 score.

Any thoughts?

If you got Zync, I would bet 95% approved for Platinum also.

So i decided to go for it......

and I got approved! 

I guess my credit was better than I thought.

I respectfully disagree.

I may be, and probably am wrong, I know AmEx likes their 450AF for the Platinum, but I personally think the OPs score and the negatives would result in a decline.

This is just my opinion, I obviouslly have no idea if you would be approved, but I don't think you would for the Platinum based on the information you have provided.

If you do app, I honestly would love for you to come back and prove me wrong.

like I said I put a 95% or more approval on ANY Charge card once approved for any of the others... most seem to start at Zync and work up... I would start with what I really want and if not then apply down vs up!

I don't think this statement of mine holds true for getting approved a personal and then getting approved for a business charge.... but I think it's still pretty close.

Congrats on your Platinum... go sit in a lounge for me!

Congrats on the approval !!! The plat card is one of the best cards, if you travel frequently the rewards will more than make up for the annual fee. Just curious about your CR ~ you said "2 court collections". Are these reporting as judgements or collection accounts ?

SAY WHATTTTT!!!!  Congrats though.  I love the look of the cards and the awards that comes with it, however, I don't travel as much.  My Zync would do me just fine.  Beside, I heard the Zync cards make people take double looks....

I have had 2 waitresses so far ask me what kind of AMEX it was and that it looked pretty. People think of AMEX as the green card or the gold.

I apped for the Zync and the Platinum the same day and was approved. I took advantage of the 1 HP for the day. I use the Plat for travel and the lounges that you can access with the priority pass are a great perk. I have used the lounges overseas so far and it's a great feeling.
