Re: Will I Get Approved for WalMart??

Okay so is the concensus to PASS on Wally and PASS on Barclaycard and APP for Discover IT Student.

I hear what you are saying about Wal-mart or Barclay not really being Top Tier lenders but is it seriously wise to go into the garden with only ONE revolving account with a $300CL AND that is secured?  Is it not more important to obtain at least 3 revolvers right now so that they can grow together?

You can come to the garden with one card of course........

And take your time building up revolving TL's and yes if you do apply and I really wish you would wait until you're showing 6 months of payment history but you seem ready to app...apply for the Discover student version only

Go with the Wal-Mart card and forget about the Discover card IMO.

Re: Will I Get Approved for WalMart??

I would wait on both. Chances of approval with two months of rev credit history are slim with Wal. The student Discover would have been a wiser choice -believe it or not- as your first cc -after that they will prob want to see a few more months of rev cred.

Also, the student discover does not come with the same promo period, you might get a lower CLI etc.

IMO, app toward the end of the year.

Re: Will I Get Approved for WalMart??

Again, as a cardholder of both Walmart and Discover,
DO NOT app Discover. Even as a student, they denied me time after time after time for short history even w low util.
I got Walmart w 630-640 FICO and Discover with 688 FICO.
You have a 50% chance of Walmart and 20% of Discover IT.
Is the glass half empty or half full? Lol

Re: Will I Get Approved for WalMart??

I, too have both cc's and waiting is best. OPs 'high' AAOA is for SLs not rev credit. In Dec he'll be closer to 6 mos and his chances are better. Walmart does not recon a system decline and neither does discover.
