Will I be approved for a AMEX GOLD?

Experian Score is 770. Have 1 open credit card with credit limit of $10000, balance is around 1000.   No deliquencies or negative information on my report.  Only bad thing is I have 8 inquiries within the last 2 years.  last one being in december.  I also have a shool loan with a balance of $15000.

The inq's could hurt. How old is your card? You have a decent chance if everything else is accurate.

You will be fine, there is no reason to app for the Green first if you want the Gold, they both have the same underwriting criteria.

I agree. You are good to go for the Gold. I haven't found Amex to be too inquiry sensitive if the rest of your file is in good shape.

What's the source of the EX score?  If it's a FAKO, could be way off; if it's a FICO (lender generated) then that's a prime score.

8 INQ within the past year, but how many in the past 12 months?  Those are really the only ones that matter.  Why so many INQ within the past 2 years if you have only one open card?

The charge cards are generally easier to get than the revolvers.  IF that's a true FICO score from EX, then you're likely to be approved, all things considered.

EX = 828 EQ = 846 TU = 833 as of 02/2016

Re: Will I be approved for a AMEX GOLD?

Go for Gold PRG (Annual Fee is waived for the first year), next year downgrade to regular gold if you dont want to 175$.

Also apply a Amex credit card right after you apply for the gold card. You might as well get luck with two products in one pull.

If you go this route, you should always apply for the charge card (gold) first and then the revolver (credit card)
