Re: Will I get approved? Chase Sapphire Preferred

Just got off the phone with AMEX. They told me everything is in order and that another department is reviewing the application. They said they would contact me through email if anything changed.

Re: Will I get approved? Chase Sapphire Preferred

they are probably swamped right now. It didn't take me long this morning but I called early. The odd thing with mine was they wouldn't tell me I was approved until I answered their question of if I wanted the card rushed out to me. Then I got transferred to another department. It was really strange. I'm just happy I got one of my end game cards (BCP). Good luck to ya.

Re: Will I get approved? Chase Sapphire Preferred

Checked status again today and still showed "In Progress" so I called AMEX. They told me they pulled my report through experian and showed a score of 788. The lady mentioned how good everything looked a few times. They asked me to get a written letter from my bank to confirm my address that i provided when applying. And they also asked me to fill out the form 4506T from the IRS so they could get a copy of my income. I guess im good to go? My reported income last year was $60k. I have to wait for them to send me a letter stating where i should mail the documents too. She wouldnt tell me over the phone.

Just an update! I checked the status today and it shows "APPROVED" :smileyvery-happy:. says i will recieve new card in mail in 7-10 days. Not sure why the lady on the phone requested the documents. Will they still need me to get the address verification from my bank and the Tax Return copy? Also how can i check my credit limit right now? Pretty excited right now.

Congrats.  Typically you won't know your credit limit until they send the new account package to you.

Very odd they asked for all of that information.

If they do not ask when you got to activate your card I think you will be okay.

Wait 61 days and ask for a credit limit increase for 3 times your credit limit.  IE if they give you 2k ask for 6k on day 61 of your acount.  (please note 61 days after the activation date. )
