Will Preapproved msg for Amex be hard pull?

Every time i log into my Amex account online, i see the banner for preapproved upgrade for the Platinum Delta Skymiles card (I already have the Gold Delta Amex)... does anyone know or has anyone accepted the offer to know whether they will hard pull hard reports for the upgrade? Hopefully it will be just a soft or nothing at all. Thanks guys!

Even for an upgrade? I would think if AmEx is offering an upgrade they have been looking into your history with them and softing your reports and feel your creditworthiness has met their requirements.

I'm only asking, not in any way disagreeing with the previous posters.

Was thinking the same as the prev two posters.  The history is already there, just by upgrading to platinum, i wouldn't think a hard pull necessary as they watch like hawks.  But, to be certain, call them and ask.  Let everyone here know your results

Just upgraded from gold to plat on Thursday, no new inq's showing.

I believe an upgrade is just a PC -- and therefore a soft.

If you are getting a whole new card, it will cost you a hard.

I upgraded my Gold card to a Platinum card 2 or 3 years ago and Amex did not hard me.

I missed the small print that it was a PC and not a new CC offer. 

I change my vote to a soft pull
