Will increasing cc lines change score ?

Just curious about something. If you have a department store or any cc for that matter, and you get a credit limit increase, will it make any changes to your credit score ? In addition, when you attempt to get that increase, will the holder run you again for credit worthiness or do they typically base it on their internal record that you have as a customer ? If they do re-run you, will that show up as a standard inquiry & reduce your score or is it a different thing entirely ? Thanks for any advice. Tim

Generally - increased CLs will reduce your utilization (good)

Many CCCs seem to do a hard pull for a CL increase you ask for (bad, but goes away)
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid
