Re: Would anyone mind sharing with me?

Thanks for sharing, everyone. I was so surprised to see that some of you have such high CL's. I mean, my highest is $4500, but considering that I've only been handling credit for two years now I guess thats not too bad. Can't wait to get my util ratios down to 30% percent, like most of you. (I know this is whats killing my score Smiley Sad )

I was also surprised to see that some of you guys have so many revolving accounts. I thought my having six CC's were alot. Does anyone know if there's any certain number of CC's thats looks most favorable to lenders?

Re: Would anyone mind sharing with me?

The classic, old-school FICO High Achievers, may they rot in a warmish place, only have 4 or 5:

FICO High Achievers

But this is changing, as FICO starts to incorporate how Americans use credit.

And lenders tend to be much more realistic. For those who have an insane number of cards, and are questioned by a potential lender, just say that you didn't realize back in the day, and you followed some bad advice, and now you're looking for quality cards.

Unless you've just gone completely berserk, what lenders look at are the balances on your cards, as in $0, and if you've had recent lates or other indications that you've gotten in over your head.

Re: Would anyone mind sharing with me?

I was feeling the same way ... WOW is all I can say Smiley Happy  Like you I've used a debt card or my cash only policy ever since my divorce.  I absolutely REFUSE to get into debt trouble again in my life.  Now I'm reading everything and it's telling me to have all these credit cards, but for the most part don't use them.  OMG this world is wacky!

All I currently have is ...
Target Visa 5000/3500 bal - just got new furniture while I'm deceased, figured it was safe for now.
Chase BP 325/15 bal - just used it for the first time in 5 years so it show activity again.

Credit cards scared me at one point in my life so if I needed money I did it via installment loans of sorts so that I knew it would be over one daySmiley Happy

Re: Would anyone mind sharing with me?

The only reason that I have so many cards is because I'm trying to avoid the ding for too many accounts with balances. Two of my CC's are shredder-bound, with a couple more circling the drain, so I'm hoping to get a more manageable collection in 6-12 months. (I'm stuck with them for now, kinda like an annoying brother-in-law or something.)
