Would one bank credit card help my credit score?

Hi, I have only one credit card my question is will only having one with a low limit help establish my credit score or should I look at getting a capital one platinum card?

Re: Would one bank credit card help my credit score?

2-3 cards is considered the minimum for optimizing scores.

I don't know your circumstances, but you might look at the SDFCU secured Visa.

You need to have at least 3 revolving bankcards (not store) to help with maximizing your scores.

Once that card has 6mo to 1 year of history with no late payments you should have no trouble getting approved for unsecurecd Cap One or Discover.  This is assuming you have no other negative marks on your file.

Who is this credit card through?

It is your only credit on your report?
