My highest visa limit was $3000 (Capital One), although I do have an $8000 limit with CareCredit and smaller limits on a half dozen other cards.
I have never had a rewards card and was thinking, based on the forum, that NFCU was my best bet to be approved for a card with a sufficient limit to run my monthly expenses through. I finally joined and applied for their rewards visa last week. It came back this morning approved at $10,000 limit!
That is crazy high for someone like me with a bankruptcy four years ago. I was hoping for $5000, but this is awesome! I don't even have direct deposit with them. I feel like I've accomplished something, although I'm not sure what. I am a little curious as to how they come to their decisions about limits. I don't earn a whole lot, and with the bankruptcy, you'd think they'd be less than generous.
Is this just luck of the draw? Will they lower my limit if I don't run "enough" transactions through?
The credit limits given from this Credit Union never cease to amaze me!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
I agree; I was in disbelief. I couldn't get that kind of limit even before my bankruptcy, when my credit was "stellar."
I'm soooo jealous. I wish I was eligible for NFCU.
thats great. you know i love amazing stories since i recently got approved for usaa visa at 11,000 with a pretty thin file. congrats.
