Re: Your first and highest CL leap ...

Biggest jump for me was going from a 750CL capital one card to an instant approval for a 5,500 discover more.

Before I had my cap 1 card I was getting denied for prime cards because I had no open credit cards, so I had to bite the bullet and go with a cap 1 builder. I made that jump in CL because I kept inquiries to a minimum and made a payment before my statement cut to lower util.

Now the good news of course is when one bank gives you your first high limit card, other banks will be glad to follow.

Re: Your first and highest CL leap ...

My highest CL leap was on my Cap1 Visa card. I've had it since 1999, and it was stuck at $1400 the entire time, with no CLIs. That is, until last summer, when it jumped $5000, to where it currently sits at $6400. It was a completely unexpected CLI, and my jaw dropped as I about fell out of my chair! I kept looking at my computer screen thinking that I was seeing things wrong, but no, it was a $5000 auto CLI!

Re: Your first and highest CL leap ...

I think I misunderstood the OP's question: my single biggest CLI jump was from $3k to $15k on my Freedom card (via executive office request, no HP).

This is certainly contrary to what most write with regards to Cap 1, thanks for sharing -- hopefully others with see your experience and value the AAOA, and the relationship.

Re: Your first and highest CL leap ...

Guess it's my recently graduated BOA cash rewards. I was graduated early unexpectedly,  I didn't get an auto-cli at graduation so i called them after my account number changed. I started at 600 in august 11, doubled deposit to 1.2K this april, then CLI'd 1.2K to 3K this weekend, 2 Weeks after graduation.

That should get things rolling for some decent CLI's in the future.

Re: Your first and highest CL leap ...

Highest CL leap was my Yahoo! Visa back in about 2000.  Went from $9K to $30K.  Of course since then I have been through a BK7 so if you're taking that into account:

Since rebuilding, first CLI was CapOne $750-$3K back in '08.  Biggest three were Alliant, $500-$15K, PSECU, $10K-$20K and UIECU from $10K-$20K.  I know I'm maxed out on PSECU, but I've inched up $2K more on Alliant and get periodic 10% Auto-CLIs on UIECU now.
