Zales # to call for CLI possibility?

Hi, Zales pulled my EX today and approved for 500CL. They did not ask for my income or job history and I am wondering if I call the # I may be able to sway a bigger credit line. I have been in same job for 6 years and make between $105 and $120,000

DOes anyone have the # to do this?

Re: Zales # to call for CLI possibility?

Your scores are still a little low for that...logical or not, most companies count your credit score more than your income.

The good news is that your income gives you the leverage to pay the fees for less-than-prime credit cards and get your credit back up to par, as well as to offer PFDs for your most recent past debts.

Re: Zales # to call for CLI possibility?

Ya it is a shame and is why many banks are having problems with people going bankrupt etc  because all they pull is a score. Someone could have a good credit score but be way up in the ears in debt.  My own brother had a score about 800 but only made 40k between him and his wife. They lived on their credit cards constantly and always close to maxed out. Kept putting their cards on new home equity's and rolling them in. Eventually this caught up with them and they didn't have anymore equity to put on home anymore and could not pay their cards. By By 800 score.

If I was granting credit I could care less if someone couldn't pay their medical bills or had messups years ago becausemaybe they didn't make much money but you bet I would care how much they make now and how long they have been on job.

Now back to my score ya they are low but getting up there and I am getting some good tl to add.
I only have one baddie left on EX to be concerned with and it is a CO from 2001 when I made 20k to support a family of 3. I had already made payment arrangements with an attorney before I found myfico and
it is scheduled to drop october 2008 but when this happens I will also lose a big ave history unless it changes to report as paid in full instead of deleting tl.

Anyway anyone have a number for zales for cli request? I already have a plan of what I would say to get it and it just might work

Does Zales auto approve like the other jewelry places? do they report before you make a purchase?

Re: Zales # to call for CLI possibility?

i logged on to my zales account online today, and noticed they raised my credit limit from $2500 to $3250. yah! i opened my account in the store in may of 08. i had scores averaging only about 640-650. maybe because of the credit crisis, they started you out w/ a lower limit.
