Zync AU questions...

I'm toying with the idea of adding my sister as an AU to my Zync card in hopes of helping her build some history and because I really hate my Zync card so this would be a way to show it some use lol  I have a few questions though:

1.  Are they even accepting Zync AUs since they discontinued it?  I clicked the add user button on my account and it says, "We are sorry, you are not able to apply for an Additional Card online. Please call the number on the back of your Card if you have additional inquiries."

2.  We do not currently live at the same address, however her current address shows as my prior address on my CRs - so what are the chances that Amex would report for her?

3.  I think I read that you can set limits for spending for Amex AUs - but can't find that now, is that the case?

I've also toyed with the idea of just helping her get a secured card or loan, but I just don't know how responsible she would be... I feel like an AU account that I can monitor/control limits on would be ideal.  If Zync wouldn't fit my needs, are there any suggestions of what would?

Thanks!

I'm not 100% but I'm sure the Unicorn AU's are no longer being taken.

Re: Zync AU questions...

That's what I'm afraid of... I really wish I hadn't gotten the card to start with lol

I only did it because everyone raves about how great Amex is and how great the backdating is.  I definitely regret it because it's just not my cup of tea lol.  Someday if I app for a BCE I guess it will have been worth it, but I doubt that I'll app for that since I'm probably going to have DH do so instead.  I was hoping they'd still be taking AUs because then at least I would be able to see some benefit from my poor decision lol

Re: Zync AU questions...

If you do the green, the cost of the AU card is a little higher than zync overall. If you do the PRG, you can add up to 5 au's at no extra charge (If I understand the TOS correctly). Think I'm right about au on zync, since I vaguely remember trying to add my old lady, and it never came through.

Re: Zync AU questions...

I really don't like charge cards or Amex enough to make back the AF for the green.  I was willing to eat the fee for the Zync when I got it last year because it was so low and I thought I might someday app for one of their revolvers - but now I doubt that I will.  I suppose I could app for the BCE instead DH but his profile is cleaner than mine so it's probably better for him to do so.

Re: Zync AU questions...

have you tried to pc to the senior green, i believe the only difference is the senior green does not earn points its just a plan charge card w/ a $35 ish a/f it would be a good way to keep a relationship w/ amex and i believe you would be able to add an AU, then when your score imporves get your very own BCE

Re: Zync AU questions...

I looked up the Senior Green info... I don't think it's worth it $35 fee plus $20 (I think) for an AU.  I really just want to get something reporting for her so she can build some history, and this would have been a nice/safe way to do it.

Anyone have any alternative non Amex suggestions?

Re: Zync AU questions...

looking at your line up why not add her as an AU on your Simplicity and see if you can just give her a low limit like $500
