amex BCE question

hello,

I currently have 2 amex (gold premier and green) i really dont use the green charge card much because of the point system. i do really want the BCE Preffered. i opened the 2 amex around september. is it a good idea to wait the whole year and cancel the green charge or is safe to do now and then apply for BCE ?

any tips will be helpful!

I'm not sure what it would do to their internal scoring system but I don't think they are going to cry about it. Out of curiosity, why did you get a green and a gold?

Did you get some sort of signup bonus on the green card? If so, then you may want to wait before closing it so that it does not look like you are opening cards and then closing them after getting signup offer. If you did not receieve any sort of signup bonus on the green card then it should be ok to go ahead and close it out and then app for the BCE in Jan.

i heard some somewhere it was easier to get the green card. but i was trigger happy and a week later applied for the gold.

no sign up bonus only bonus was on the gold but im planning to keep that one!
