For some reason i thought before amex bcp you could get an check sent to you like the way chase freedom does it ? It looks like now you can only get statement credit for the reward dollars you have accumulated. Am i missing something ?

You can redeem your MR points for statement credit, gift cards, merchandise, etc. if you don't want a statement credit, you can always get an Amex gift card.

AmEx, never offered the option to redeem cash back reward checks since the inception of the original blue cash, only state credits and mostly recently gift cards!

True, but the BCP doesn't give MR points, just reward dollars.
