Just got both the Amex Plenti and BCE a few mos back both with 0% for the next year; I have charges on my Lowes card pending sale of a project I just completed. Hopefully I will make the sale within 6 mos. How does Amex look at BT's.......it would save med interest on the Lowes card
I hear Amex hates balances being carried over a long period of time but I would think if they allow the BT and you make well over the minimum payment they shouldnt be so prudent

I've been carrying a balance on my everyday card for several months without a problem. I pay well over the minimum each month. If amex took AA against me for using my 0% apr I'd throw a fit and probably just terminate my entire relationship with them (keeping in mind I make above minimum payments and my overall util on the card is quite low- someone maxing out a card would likely have an issue especially if it is a new account). The whole amex hates carrying balances thing is not accurate. The problem comes in when people carry balances on cards where they are being charged interest. Then amex wonders why someone would pay interest if they could just pay it off. This leads amex to think maybe the person doesn't have money and they take action.
Makes perfect sense. Don't think an issuer should punish someone for using a 0% APR promo, I'm using the crap out of my 2 Cap One promos (combined $3900 balances on two cards)

They shouldn't but they do. Cap One won't though. Never heard them AA for carrying a balance.
