I had my Upromised changed to barclay rewards but haven't really used it. I hate hate hate barclay, cannot switch to the card I want without applying for another. Just want to get my hands on the 5% sallie mae card and be done with them (heard they are pretty bad with disputes as well, I doubt there will be problems with my grocery).
too bad priceline visa isn't 2% anymore... it changed soon after being denied.
Cards I will apply for in order:
Fidelity Amex 2%
Sallie Mae 5%
BofA better balance
other cards I had in mind:
Discover Escape - 2% can be redeemed on Amazon, has primary auto insurance, but it has an annual fee (that pays itself for 3 years), seems nice to have, but I don't know if I'll rent enough for it to be worth while
Cap1 Quicksilver - seems like a great card, no FTF and 1.5% but requires "Excellent credit" I haven't had any card for 3 years, but have lines much over 5000, they pull all 3 CR.
Chase IHG - 49 annual fee but comes with a voucher that works for one night worldwide. pays for itself. But chase is great and I can probably apply for this anytime and just borrow against my Freedom card.
Also any ideas what I should change my Delta Gold to after I use my companion pass? I got an email saying I am preapproved to upgrade to the delta platinum which brings back the companion pass. Thinking to just change it to Blue Sky, Blue or Hilton (anything with no annual)
Being denied by CapitalOne is a huge red flag imo. Hopefully things have changed dramatically in the last year. I think we need the bigger picture here like current scores and util. Have you tried getting a CLI on your discover IT? What's your CL on the BOA?
AutoCLI on the IT to 1500, BofA is 800
CK is 718
Im AU on my parent's account, utilization would be at 20% with.
otherwise im at 3% without, I'm pretty sure they don't consider AU much, since when applying they usually can tell my longest open account is the AU and refer to it differently then the cards I am under.
I wouldn't be so sure on the AU. It's not like lenders have a magic 8 ball that tells them who's doing the spending. Utilization is utilization.
Something is spooking CapitalOne and BOA and maybe even Discover. Time to reassess not go trawling for more cards.
You are using Credit Karma scores? You should check your real FICO before app'ing. Those would be the scores given to you in the denial letters from Cap1 and Priceline. Also, what were their reasons for denial?
I believe that was the inconsistencies with my stated income. the USBank was in person and I told them my hourly internship wage. I'm guessing she calculated that into a fulltime salary. I am a student in college, so I just put down the income I earn on the W4
But the other reasons were generally that I applied for too many accounts recently, that was the reason for the Priceline. infact they didnt pull when I tried again 3 months later. I guess I'll get the FICO score for free starting nov19 from discover. But the FICO scores on the denial letters were all 700+, I think 731.
I always pay on time and can pay in full. I can pay everything in full right now (besides the AU, I let my 0% APR cards carry balance).
46k+ in credit and a full time college student I must be missing something. I tip my hat to you. Who am I to give an opinion?

You said you had Barclay Rewards? You can get it from there.

Fico score is 724 right now from Barclay's. Thanks
No problem.
Have you looked at CreditSesame, Credit.com and/or Quizzle?
Just like CreditKarma but they pull from Experian. CreditSesame alerts me quite a bit about changes.
