applied for Target red card this is the response i received

Does this mean  I was denied??  If so why dont they just tell me right away??

Not necessarily. I got the same message and they made me sweat it out for a couple weeks. Finally, got the card in the mail. 200.00 credit line. I wan't my sweat back.

if they did not give you a reference number to check status later, it's declined in my experience.

I received the same response when I applied. I immediately called and they asked a few questions and Bam approved for $200.

really?? I called and they said wait for your letter wouldnt give me any information.  They didnt even ask my name or any other information.  Can I have the number you called?

If they would not tell you anything over the phone sounds like a denial sorry.
