Re: approved for DCU visa platinum

I would PC to the rewards card.  $2k is plenty if you are paying in full, getting rewards, and not worrying about carrying balances with interest.  They had your limit higher at first glance of your report, so I would bet that they will CLI with a few months good history.

no i like the 11.99% apr cuz it my lowest one. rewards one would be 14.99%

Yes, but 0% + rewards is better than 11.99% with no rewards.

EDIT:  nevermind.  I guess it is nice to have a low apr card if you charge more than you can afford.  I have a low apr card too, just in case I needed to carry balances.  I have yet to do that though and my low apr card has rewards.

Re: approved for DCU visa platinum

I was referring to the fact that if you just don't spend more than you can afford and pay the full balance each month, you will be charged 0% interest.   I can, however, see the purpose in having one low apr card if that is all you can get, but personally I would try to find one with rewards because I nearly always pay my full balances.

i do carry a balance on a diff card every month to keep my utl at 2%. but not because i cant pay but because that what i been doing since i was 18 with my first cc. i recently opened 14 new cc accounts counting this dcu one and 10/14 are rewards cards so i want something diff now. the only rewards card im interested in right now its the CSP but chase doesnt wanna play with me at the moment cuz of too many new accounts. all of my rewards card still inside the 0% intro apr so im not paying any interest.

Re: approved for DCU visa platinum

I too chose the Visa Platinum over the rewards card version a couple of weeks ago.  Since I discovered the forums I've made it a point to PIF and not rack up new debt.  But, I also wanted a low interest card in case I did have to carry a balance for a month or two.
