Pray for instant approval, be VERY ready to recon. Tell them what happened with the missed payments, tell them what you learned from it, and what action(s) you've taken to prevent it from ever happening again (setting up auto pay (which hopefully you did since then)). You can also leverage material salaray increase, if applicable.
Overall though, Marriott not worth it, IMO bc of its poor redemption value. I'd go Hyatt over Marriott.

I thought you were looking to get rid of cards, not add more!
But if this one has a specific benefit you know you'll use, go for it. I'm just leery of recommending it because you don't seem very happy with the hotel/travel cards you do have already (The ED for MRs, the Hhonors, etc).

The Marriott sign up bonus, if you get 80,000 points, is good. The free night annually is good. But the points earning on regular daily spend is not too valuable. Generally worse points value earning than each of the HHonors cards.
You earn good points by staying at Marriotts, so if your employer is paying for those, that is nice, and the free annual night is worth it to me to hang on to it, but I'm not using the card to try to spend my way to free nights, that's a nearly impossible task at my spend rate.
The only reason i would get a Marriot card is for the free annual night. Using the card to make purchases is worthless since it takes an exorbitant amt of pts to qualify for a free night. Also if you are doing that, you're wasting out on all the points u could be gaining on ur other cards.
So the main question is whether the card is worth its AF, whatever that is. I just dont think its worth it imo to carry around one card for a free annual night but to each its own...
