Fairly new poster. Been lurkin for a while.. was recently approved for the ak airlines card. The platinum version.. "no 99 companion ticket" ... was wondering how long I should wait to ask to switch to the sig version with the companion flight. little background info.. super thin file..no credit cards for 10 plus years.. occasional auto loan always paid on time.. one unpaid collection from 12/10.. very small from local internet company . Refuse to pay it. Many new accounts from recent app spree.. chase freedom for 3500, nfl card for 2500, newegg for 2500, ak air for 2500 and last... most certainly least amex blue sky for 500... should I give it 6 months ??? A year ??

Not sure it matters.. or if it had much to do with initial approval.. but ive been au on business acct for few yrs now

I've had a AK visa for 20 years. Alaska Air miles are very valuable to me
and the card has been my main card for a lot of the time I've had it.
I'm not a real fan of BoA though. Any CLI or PC I've gotten over the years
has resulted in a HP. BoA also did some very funky stuff during the 2008
during the credit melt down including slashing CL on cards with perfect
histories. They haven't been tough on CLI increases for me though, except
for it is always a HP.
You'll need a $5k limit for a AK signature visa. Did you initially apply for
the platinum card, or was that what they offered when you applied? As
far as I've seen, Alaska Airlines really pushes the signature version of
the card so it makes me wonder if you aren't ready yet in their opinion for
a signature visa.

Well more or less im sure they werent ready to give me a sig card
All the credit cards I listed In op were within last two months.. only other recent credit activity is a car loan opened In 4/13.. prior to that no activity/open accts for 2 + yrs
The perks of an ak air card and the miles program are great for me also... born and raised here
