i wont be home (where the card was sent until labor day.)

can she use the card if she just opens it?

(with my permission of course)

or would i have to add her as an au?

can i do this via online and not have her own personal card.

Yes she can. It is very uncommon for the cashiers to check the ID when you use CC!

The guy above me is correct, if they don't check the ID she can use it, you can also add her as an AU on the website and she'll get her own card.

Re: can my mom use my card without being an au? Walmart cc.

thanks guys. we live in the ghetto side of town Man LOL

so ill just tell her to use it and txt me the card number so i can use the credit score from them.

i can use it just i wont be home to get it. ( about 4 hour drive)

i could add her as an au but that will take another 10 days and i dont really care if she uses mine or not.  it will be just sitting there.

ive had my debit card from BoA for 4 years and have never signed it. the other day i noticed it said if not signed it is not valid.

does that mean i can have all the money i spent back? =_______=

Re: can my mom use my card without being an au? Walmart cc.

How about leaving the front sticker that says call this 800 number to activate the CC? LOL, thieves wouldn't be too sure that the transaction would go thru and makes cashiers take a double look at the card and ask for ID! xD

Re: can my mom use my card without being an au? Walmart cc.

Lets see... gas pumps don't ask for ID.  You still have to activate the card before anyone would be able to use it,  I would just wait untill your home to open it...get that out of your system.

Technically no. That's a violation of the card user agreement/the merchant's processing agreement. Will people notice most likely not. How prudent ask for ID is is up in the air, You are then giving a cashier(making minimum wage, most likely) almost enough information to steal your identity. Better than not signing it and leaving the strip completely blank. It would seem that almost noone checks for ID or even gender match for the person presenting the card. I have a lot of people shocked and appauled that they can't use thier wife/husband's card with their wife/husband's ID or signature on it at my work. We actually follow our credit card merchant agreement which tee's people off hardcore.

yeah, we get a lot of customers that get irritated when I ask for their I.D. My response "then why put 'See ID' on the back..." lol I appreciate it when a cashier asks to see mine; shows they are doing their job correctly.
