cap 1 to keep or let go?

Right now I have had the capital one card for years probably since 2005. Its got an annual 19 dollars. I closed on my house a few months ago and then apped for a chase freedom 3000 a discover 4000 and boa 2800 plus 5/3 homeowners 500 none of them have annual fees could I cancel the cap one and apply for something else through cap1 or just give cap1 up in general. Chase freedom will probably be my go to card for awhile . Thanks for any ideas.

Why not PC to another Capital 1 card?  Keep your old account for free.  Try the online chat rep on the cap1 site, tell them you want rewards, no af, and ask if the have any offers for you.  Then, hit them up for a soft-pull CLI.  If that doesn't get you there, go the exec route.  Worked for me!

Re: cap 1 to keep or let go?

Congratulations on your new home purchase as well as your new credit cards!

I've had my Cap1 Plat Visa since 2004 and it was stuck at a $1,300 limit.  Called in for a CLI a couple of weeks ago - was declined.  Kept reading on here about the Capital One executive office and how they were granting CLIs and even PCs.  I called the Exec Office on Friday, Oct 26th and requested a CLI from $1,300 to $8,000.  By the following Tuesday morning, Oct 30th, I logged into my Cap1 account online and saw my new CL was $8,000!!  I was pleasantly surprised.  Smiley Surprised

I recommend you try getting a CLI and a PC if you so desire.  Lots of people seem to be having success with this lately - myself included.  You have nothing to lose.  Good luck!!
