I have a few capitalone credit cards with zero balances and decent limits. A few times recently I have ran up boa visa and and transfered the balance to a capitalone card to get an extra 30 days to pay it off in full. Since capone does not charge me any transaction fees, there is really no harm in doing that? I have been able to keep my revolving utilization at 1% for almost 6 months and only spend more than I can when im maximizing rewards and know I just need 2-3 weeks extra to pay the card off in full.
