captial one Customer Retenition Deppartment needs training

I've paid off my cap 1 card and called to get my 8.9 fix to 7.25
 
I explained to the "specialist" That already have another rewards card, that I consider better suited to me. and that I only need one card that I ever intend to carry a balance on, and that I've been reciving offers for 7.25, and I'd rather have the rate with them, rather than get another card..
 
Said anything below 8.9 was impossiable as of now and would be notifying by mail at such a time when it would be likely.
 
 
She was willing to CLOSE my account, I said keep it open but warned when I do get a card with a lower rate my first call will be to cancel.

People say "Only apply for credit you NEED"

I say "apply for credit you have PRATICAL use of"

I don't have AMEX card because I don't want a card that suffers from PMS

I noticed my Chase Amazon card's rate was 8..99 over prime while all their other reward cards are only 5..99, not only did the adjust my rate they said I make 4 chrages in the next 30 days they'll send me a $10 gift Cert
