my chase checking account was charged off 3 years ago
it was reported chexsystem but never reported to collection agency.
i had chase credit card before but it was closed due to non payment. i paid in full but it was not charged off. on the credit report it says it was closed by credit grantor.
in this case, with bad checking account history, am i on blacklist in chase? im trying to build credit and my goal is chase sapphire..
More than likely you are on their naughty list but the only way you will ever know for sure is to apply for one of their cards. It really doesn't matter to Chase how it's (the credit card) reports, they have their own internal system that keeps tracks of delinquencies far longer than they would ever stay on your credit report. While it helps that you paid in full, they still had to charge it off along with the checking account. It may take quite a few more years to get a card from them but at some point, you'll have to apply. If you do and get denied, definitely recon and see what the CSR has to say. Good luck
I burned chase in 2012 with a C/O. I also have a chase freedom unlimited with them that they did not close. I recently applied for the Mariott Rewards card and it went to further review, now I am waiting to give them a call tomorrow to see if they will forgive me and give me another chance.
