ok, I can't find the thread, but I KNOW I read someone state that they asked chase about a CLI via the secure message, then chase asked for income, desired limit, etc. but then they refused saying they didnt want a HP. Person logs in a few days later and notices an auto CLI was given w/o HP.
Has anyone else had success like this? I just sent chase an online message asking when CLIs would occur and mentioned how frustrating it was pushing several payments through each month and not being able to fully utilize the card. They responded just like the above, and I declined about 5 mins ago. Hoping for a similiar situation haha
Even when asking via the Chase online messages, they told me that it would be a definate hard pull! I don't think it's worth trying from Chase unless you're willing to take the chance of getting a HP.

Hahaha that was me! I only got a 500 cli tho. Good luck
I would love to get it up that much. Just to make it easier for monthly spending. 2k would be ideal but anything is better than $500 CL lol crossing my fingers.

I also started at 500. When i sent them the message i was at 3 months.
Nice, my 4th statement will cut in 2 days, so hopefully they'll help me out a bit!

I have tried that twice with my Freedom, did not work. Funny thing I get regular small auto increases on my Chase Amazon that I never ask for. If you really want an increase just take the hard and than call the backdoor. Two months into having the card, I did take the inquiry had my limit doubled...no backdoor necessary.
Several observations from my own experience and reading of others regarding Chase and CLs.
1. CLs are always HPs (there may be exceptions, but SPs are very rare and definitely contrary to their standard practice).
2. Never lower a CL from Chase - when lowered from one's own volition, Chase assumes cardholder doesn't need the credit and will take considerable time to raise again once the system has been reset.
3. When consolidating CLs, unless there has been *no* activity for 30 days--either charges or payments--$500 minimum must stay with the card whose CL is being moved.
So, with Chase, never lower a CL and always assume a HP for CLI.

I know it will always be a hard pull that is why I declined them to proceed with the request. I had to recon just to get the card, so I dont feel confident taking the HP just yet. Im just now reaching one year with my charter one card, and only have 7 years of student loan payments reporting. So they wont have much revolver information to go off of. Just figured I'd give it a shot and see when I saw Jsick had some success!
