just in case anyone wants this info:

I reconned (successfully!) a chase card.

Baddies were a collection paid 6 months ago, and 2 late payments to student loan and cc, both in 2003.

I brought up the student loan thing, and she said, "No, that was a long time ago, I'm more concerned about this Household bank late payment", but they were both from the same year, so??

Discover card that is marked 'closed by credit grantor' in 2004. I think it may have been closed due to inactivity, I honestly couldn't remember. I know I wasn't using it in 2004.

With the collection, I told her I had moved, didn't know about it, then paid it as soon as I found out about it, not realizing it would hurt my score, but I emphasized that I had tried to do the right thing. This seemed to put me over the top.

They pulled EQ AND TU, but I was told on the phone they pull EX almost exclusively. Guess not!

did they call you?  When i inquired about the dreaded BK question she told me to apply and they would call me about it. It is not necessarily a denial.

Chase has never pulled EX for me (in PA).

When I applied they pulled EQ and TU - and when I requested a CLI they pulled TU only.

No--first they told me I was declined bc they couldn't verify my address. I said no one had tried. They sent that out again. In the meantime I called the backdoor # 4 or 5 times. (Impatient, no?) First 2 times it said "Still being reviewed" Then it said "we'll inform you in writing in 7-10 days". Then the last time I called it said "still being reviewed" again. Got a CSR, went through 3 people, including fraud prevention, and walla!

I didn't have a BK though, so I don't know what to tell you about that.
