closed my fingerhut card

Well I closed my fingerhut card. I will say the card was not worth it at all. I remember when i got approved just over a year ago it was the best feeling in the world haha I was wrong. The prices are unreal, shipping is crazy. I would tell anyone to stay away from the card. You are much better off getting a secured card or a regular store card like a walmart card. Next on the chopping block is either chase amazon or barclaycard rewards. I would just combine the limits to another one of my cards.

AMEX PRG NPSL,Lowes $17000,Capital One venture card $12,000,Us Airways mastercard $9500,Fidelity Amex $9000, Discover it $8000, Capital One Venture One $7500, BOA 123 rewards $7500 CSP $6000, Capital One Quicksliver $5500, Amazon Store card$5000,Barclay
Card Ring $5000 Chase Marriott $5000,Chase Hyatt $5000, Sallie Mae Mastercard $4400, Paypal smart connect $4000,Chase Freedom $3200, Capital one Quicksliver visa $3000, Chase IHG Rewards $2300, Chase Southwest Premier $2000, Citi Double Cash $1500, AMEX BCE $1000

Hopefully more people will follow suit and fingerhut will change their ways. There is very little benefit to this card.

Re: closed my fingerhut card

I plan on closing my account once it hits 6 or 9 months. I don't use it for the reasons listed I this thread. I only got it to help build cc as I am sure most of us did.

Re: closed my fingerhut card

Yep it was my 2nd rebuilder. Bought a couple cheap items and then sock drawered it. I'm over it. Easy card to get. But definitely doesn't fit my current profile.

Re: closed my fingerhut card

I closed my card many weeks ago and don't regret it at all. The stuff they had on the site was overpriced anyway. Sure they were the first card I ever got a CLI with but with all the much better cards I have in my sig, it seemed pointless to continue having it. It's one of those cards that can be useful for building a stronger credit profile for a while or rebuilding it but after its served its purpose and when you have prime cards, it's best to dump it IMO.

You simply call them and request for a cancellation.

Congrats on moving up and on.  Fingerhut knows who their customers are and adjusts their prices accordingly.  Some rebuilders have found them useful and some haven't.  I decided not to use them in my rebuild, as they never fit my needs.
