combine credit credit?

Hi all,

I'm looking for some advise on whether or not i should combine couple of my credit  credit. heres a list of what i have:

Amex Green: NSPL | opened  12/12

Discover IT: 1250 | opened 1/13

Cap1 No-Hassle:  1200 | opened 12/11

Cap1 CashRewards: 1000 | opened 12/12

Chase Freedom: 1000 | opened 11/12

Chase Amazon: 1000 | opened 1/13

WF Caskback: 1000 | opened 1/13

I think of combining the two Cap1's & Chase so i can have a card above 2k... (the reason: When i app'd the the CSP and reconed, i was told that since i didn't have any cards with high credit limit close to 5K they would not be able to approve at this time) Here is the problem, since the chase cards were recently opened will chase combine them and if show how much will my score drop. Also the Cap1 CashRewards is setup with up this the credit set program and is suppose to get a CLI of 500 in july. If i combine the Cap1's will i lose out the the CLI in july? or is it  best to wait till i get the CLI and then get them combined.

thanks for the help

AMEX Green: NPSL | AMEX BCE: 6K | Chase CSP: 5K | Chase Freedom: 1.5K | Chase SW (AU): 10K | Discover IT: 2K | WF CashBack: 1K | Cap1 No-Hassel: 1.25K | Cap1 CashBack: 1.5K

Re: combine credit credit?

Patience from what you posted it looks like you have only had credit for 3 months, Wait at least 6 more months see if you get any auto-cli's that get you higher, Cap-One if you are part of there steps program may grant you an auto-CLI, Discover is known to give CLI's after 6 months history as well.

Cap-One doesn't combine credit lines, the only one that lets you move credit lines around is Chase, and they still require you keep 500 on the lowest card, so your still stuck at 1500 for your high CL anyway. Realisticly Lenders want to see at least 12 months experience before they move you on to their higher teir cards.

Cards: Chase Southwest 20k & CSR 17k & CSP 10k & FNBO 30k Oregon Duck 5k, & AMEX BCP 32.5k & Amex Magnet 15k&amg; Hilton Surpass 7.5k & Delta Gold 12k & Zync NPSL, Fidelity AMEX 17k Commerce5.9k & Cash Forward 7.5k & Sams Club MC 20k, Paypal Extras MC 10k, Paypal Credit 7.25k CapOne Venture 15k, QS 2.5k, QS 750, Amazon 10k, Walmart 10k, Citi Simplicity 18k, Discover IT 23k and a nice stack of store cards.

Hmm...it is always best to wait for that CLI from Cap One before combining, since they're stingy in the first place without the EO. You have a good amount of cards, so I doubt you'll see a score ding...I believe it'll only go up once two accounts show a CLI!

Also, it is helpful to combine the accounts to the oldest account...but then again, in certain instances, rewards will trump oldness.

I highly recommend combining into the Chase Freedom and then combining into the Cap One Cash Rewards.

Best of luck! Smiley Very Happy
