Honestly comenity is nuts.
I got approved for a comenity total rewards Visa on 04/02, along with a sportsmansguide and virgin american visa.
On June 1st they all got closed my three visa/MC accounts with them citing too many INQ's which is ironic as I only added like 3 in 2 months and already had 50+.
I just opened a letter, i'm pre approved for the Total Rewards Visa. WHAT THE EFF. Approved $2000.
EDIT: AA'd again, look below.
Comenity hasn't been taking their meds again I see. Welcome to the wonderfully wacky world of Comenity where up is down and approved means closed and approved again.

There are multiple threads discussing this issue in length about Comenity. I would check them out. There's some good information. Best of luck!
Very sorry this happened.
There is a reason why I have posted this previously about Comenity:
Comenity. We take your cards away, then send you new ones the very same day.
They have been up and down for some time as a lender, and difficult to predict.
Which credit bureau did they say had too many inquiries?

+1
Well I'm here to mention that if you happen to get AA'd by comenity where they close your account and then pre-qualify you again don't bother taking it!
I got approved for 2K on august 6th, and I received the card on the 21st and activated it.
Ready for this? On august 24th the account was AA'd and closed again due to inquiries! I was hoping something like this wouldn't happen but it's just stupid. This time they pulled my report with 58 INQ's when approved but it became a problem less than three weeks later. I don't get how this would be a problem but it seems to be a flaw in their system. If I was such a high risk they shouldn't of approved in the first place.
My plan is to pop off a few e-mails to higher management at this company and alert them to the fact that if they're going to do this kind of BS they should just change the models to handle this. Clearly they must have a condition of X inquiries over X period of time warrants AA even though I've never missed a payment on any credit card blah blah. I popped off a message to the facebook team requesting re-instatement or removal of the inquiry / tradeline. Doubting I'll get anywhere but I'm going to waste some of their time for wasting mine .
update:
According to comenity nothing they did was wrong and the pre-qual was likely issue'd before the card was closed, of course I wonder how it's possible that I was issue'd a pre-qual for a card I already had and of course why it was dated over a month after my account was closed however.
The good news is, they agree'd to remove the account from all three credit bureaus in good faith. I can live with that resolution.
And this is why I will NEVER touch a card from Comenity.... as much as I would like to have a VS store card.... stories like this one set me straight.... no thank you!!

I agree I canceled all my store cards except jcrew. That was only motorola & gamestop though. I only wanted total rewards because I use it for the 5X points at caesars when I go to AC. And in the timeframe that they canceled my card I booked a 7 day stay in october for my 25th in vegas at a total rewards casino. Kind of sucks to miss out on the points when I'm spending the $ anyway.
