credit card apps. how many is too much

I am just wondering. I already have had 9 credit card approvals since Nov

2013. 1 installment loan. paid off.

when is it too much?

My fico has  dropped 30 points since all this.

in fact it dropped 50 points from eq 669 ex 681 tu 658 down to eq 609 ex 635 and tu 638

I though it was because i paid off a collections account that was 4 years old.

but found out thats not it.

its all the apps.

i just don't know how to recover  I will just stay in th garden at least a year.july 2015 any help or advice. utilization is at 17 percent.

will have down below 10 percent in a week.

Thanks.

that is the tricky part when re building. How many is too much? For you and I, probably 5. For people with thicker files, they can get away with more. Keeping your history good, UTL low, etc will help a lot. They stop hurting your score after one year, and in 2 years they come off your report. I'd stop all apps for at least 3-4 more months, but if you can wait the two years, that's best. You have plenty to build history with, but I know it's hard once you get the apping bug to stop.

I would stop now for at least a year, if not two.

Let your accounts and INQs age.

IMHO your scores have dropped too low for any decent approvals with good limits and low APRs.

It is not just the inquiries.  Nine new accounts in 8 months killed your AAoA.  Off to the garden! Smiley Very Happy
