I was just able to pay off all my credit card debt. do i need to notify the card creditors to update exquifax and other credit report companies?

No need for you to do anything. your balances will be updated the next time your creditors report to the credit bureaus, typically a few days after each of your statement closing dates.

If you're planning to app for new credit, i'd wait til all the paid accounts report also
