Also, why BCE? OP doens't give info on grocery shopping, might be a bad fit.
Soft pull apps for additional cards, 3x CLI, and at least with me I waited too long and got other cards before apping for the Amex so I got denied for too many new accounts.
You are correct an ED might be a better fit, depending on if OP wants cash back or MR.

RIght, but those advantages happen when you get your first card, whereas other things might be good on other cards, which was my question as to why priortize Amex (with backdating, it DID make sense to do so). Re too many new accounts, Chase is likely to be even more fussy about this, so do them early.
My other point was that we didn't know about grocery spending at all, so the ED and BCE would have the same issue. However, OP has confirmed that there will be grocery spending, so fine
i visited the prequal sites and didn't get anything from amex but discover showed me their discover it card when i visited the preqal site
IIRC Discover is only good if it has a set interest rate and not a range. How about Chase?

that doesn't mean you're prequalified... discover's pre-qualifications are bogus...

I will use it for groceries
amex bce is good for groceries, not too hard to get...
cap one quicksilver is pretty good, as are chase aarp & barclay cashforward
I pulled my fico scores EX 694 TU 707 EQ 695 using credit check total
OP - are you doing most of your grocery shopping at Walmart? If so a card like BCE might not be very helpful since they don't count Walmart and you already have the store card.
You have the Citi DC which provides general spend rewards, so if you don't travel I would look at a rotating category or specifi category card...Freedom, Discover, or even Cash+ by US Bank which has fast food, opposed to restaurants, as a 5% category.
I have a 26 yr old and college and I can tell you he eats fast food quite a bit.
Good luck in your search.
yes most of grocery shopping is at walmart and i do eat fast food and restaurants also go to the movie theater sometimes.
