credit util% question

1st card - $5000 %0

2nd card - $1000 %0

3rd card - $500 %100

If you have the 3rd card maxed out does this overwhelm your util% or does it not matter because the other 2 cards are not being used? Does this lower your FICO by maxing out the small card instead of the bigger one?

Re: credit util% question

FICO scoring looks at both overall util and individual util. So even though your overall util is 7.7%, having one card at $100% is definitely hurting you.

If you can't PIF it immediately, shoot for $245 or less (49%), and then keep taking it down lower.

Re: credit util% question

Or at least get it transferred to the $5000 CL.
