didn't do to good on my app spree

[ Edited ]

so i went on an app spree...just wanted to test the waters a bit to see where i stood.

i apped with:

my bank (credit products handled by elan bank)- denied bk/foreclosure-pulled eq

my credit union (excel fcu)-told i could start with 200 loan and go from there-pulled eq

amex zync -denied bk-pulled ex

discover more- denied bk-pulled eq

ashley furniture-approved 4000-never showed an inq

paypal mastercard-approved 500(paypal smart connect)-not sure which pulled

i never got any love from ge ever, even before bk so i'm floored about getting my foot in the door with them. won't get the signature loan from my cu because i don't want to go through the hassle of doing all that formal loan papework for 200; still no guarantee i would get a cc with them. (rep made reference to fact that i don't have my direct deposit with them anymore).

so i will garden what i do have: cap1 1150, credit1 800, paypal smart connect 500, ashley furniture 4000, new mortg 115000 and be thankful!!

Re: didn't do to good on my app spree

Hi!

Sorry to hear about the denials..When was your BK filed? I always feel like if you get denied, regardless if they still may say no I would still recon b/c heck you already took the hit for the inquiry..If you have a recent BK some of those were probably not your best bet to apply for. Next time maybe search the boards here or also check out www.whogavemecredit.com

Re: didn't do to good on my app spree

I can understand but next time so you don't have to waste inquiries, search the boards here, or ask a question first b4 apping or check the whogavemecredit website..That way you can save yourself the inquiries..:smileyvery-happy:

I'd say for a few of those your BK is too new for them to be willing to approve, but it is possible with a BK with some of them you probably just need to wait until it ages first..

Re: didn't do to good on my app spree

i did all of the above, but since everyone's situation is different, i decided to go ahead and go for it. my scores are not terrible and they will soon bounce back from the inqs, so no big deal.

i pulled eq on 7/6/12. it was 702. 3 inq. length of history 13yrs. AAA 8yrs. oldest macys 6/1999- newest credit one 8/2009. 1% util on revolving

1 public record

5 neg accts

0 collections

since app spree now have 5 total inqs and score down to 663

pulled experian on 7/9/12 basically same as eq except have 1 installment loan reporting 1997bal/3000 limit (reports on both tu & exp) oldest acct 3/2001-newest 12/2010

my transunion report i pulled on my fico just deleted so i don't have that info (i do know that my tu score was about 30 pts higher than in my siggy though)

Re: didn't do to good on my app spree

I know the feeling - our scenarios are very similar - my BK will be 3 years old in August - I have been to afraid to even apply for any other CC's for the past year (well since October) and was denied a Walmart card then due to "BK".  I did, however, go to my CU in April - explained everything that had happened and where I wanted to be and what I have been doing to get there.  They were very helpful - I opted for just a $500.00 loan for 12 mos.....he told me NOT to pay off early as I am only doing this to reflect on my CR - and if not at least 12 mos of payment history would not reflect.

I still am trying to decide whether to do one for $1,000.00 after that (May 2013) or to go with one of their CC's at that time.

Would be nice to get rid of the Household bank card that is stuck at $305.00 - can't even get a tank of gas without going over the 10%

So...keep your head up and keep plugging onward is what I say -

Thanks

Re: didn't do to good on my app spree

OP you have enough revolving accounts to get your score going, more cards won't help.  Wait another year before app'ing and maybe by that time your be able to hit some good prime cards. GL (Now Garden!)

Re: didn't do to good on my app spree

**update**

so i pulled my equifax report/score today to see what the immediate effects were from my recent apps. the ashley furniture acct & paypal smart acct have both reported.everything i have is 100% revolving debt. total limit 6200. total available 5037. 19% utilization (thanks to that new furniture 18 mos no interest if paid in full by exp date) .

(only softed by gecrb for the ashley and paypal accts & only softed by cap 1 for the 250 cli on my orchard bank card which hasn't reported yet).

my score is @ 682 and my AAOA stands at 7yrs 5mos. 5 total hard inqs

now just waiting for my mortgage to be sold and eventually report. which way to the garden? oh, i see it now!!! thanks for everyone's advice
