direct merchant/hsbc/Capitol One will not remove fraudulent charges for 30 to 90 days

Charges for Bangledesh Airlines, called immediately, over $1000. Will not remove untill investigation is complete and I have to pay at least minimum (maybe interest), they said, "Well, you could then request a refund when we complete investigation".

Annoying, as it shows up as an outstanding amount.  Do not use this card, just did not cancel.

Do you have another balance on the card besides the questionable charges?  If so, you still have to pay on that portion of the balance.  Did they offer or did you request a replacement or new account as a result of those charges?

No other charges on account.  Yes, we cancelled and received a new one.  Took 8 days.  American Express has much better service.  Overnight card and immediate removal.
