does anyone know when credit report updates?

i believe last month when i checked my credit report my score was in the mid 600's. but i checked it again today and it was above 700. my question is when do they update? i have a capital one balance that is reporting a 400$ balance from july balance when in fact my balance i owe now is under 100$.

i was recently notified my payment due date was changed, does changing my due date on a statement have anything to do with this?

Your credit report changes when a creditor reports to them. Most banks report shortly after the statement cuts. I've heard people also calling their bank and asking them to report early to report a change in balance, CLI, or new account. It really depends, and is up to the bank to report.
