To me you answered your own question. You should not get a card solely to "get in" with someone. That is irrelevant if you don't need it. You said you don't need it...I think you know what the answer is Smiley Happy

It's a good card to have, and the bonus is great. If your credit profile supports it, I say go for it. Check their pre qual site first and see if it comes up for you, that way you don't waste a hard pull.

Are you asking if you should apply for a credit card that will give you 200 free dollars?

 

Assumign you will reasonably charge and pay off ~500 dollars in the next couple months, and assuming you will be approved for the card, the likely answer is "yes".  It is really good value, especially with the 0% APR period.
