from store credit cards to amex/visas

Question.  If you get a store credit ex. Target/Walmart/Macy's/Bloomingdales etc. Can you PC them to their AMEX/Visa versions? and if so how long do you need the card in order to do so?

Most store cards are only upgradable at the creditors choice, you as a card holder can't upgrade.

GE Walmat and Sam's club upgrade when they choose to the discover version.

Target Visa card isn't being issued anymore. perhaps TD bank will start issuing them again but its not currently

Macy's and Bloomingdales I don't have any experience with, it may require a HP to upgrade.

For Macy's/Bloomingdales, those typically don't require an HP (SP seems to be the falvor these days, but YEMV).  However, in the overall scheme of upgrades, these tend to be offered to individuals with established profiles, above average scores (some even above ~700) and relatively clean files.
