how high?

Kind of a two part question;

1) What was the lowest credit line that you started off with and how high has it gotten?

2) What is your highest limit on just ONE credit card? (Amex or any other charge card don't count!)

Wells Fargo, started at 700 and now at 10.5k. I was a stupid kid who requested only 500-1000 for CLIs each time I was eligible for one. NO HPs though, so can't exactly complain either.

Highest 20.5k now by Citi.

  • My BofA started at 500$ and is now 5K for many years - but I never asked for a CLI myself. (auto CLI only)  (being a Signature card now it does not make sense to ask for CLI as it will not report the CL anyhow and BofA has always authorized any charges even above the 5K limit) So I will leave it as it is.
  • Highest card is Citi  with 17K (starting limit)

Re: how high?

When I applied for my Chase Platinum Visa seven years ago, I was given a $500 credit line.  That account has since changed over to what it is today, which is a Chase Freedom Visa Signature.  The credit line today sits at $14,300.  This credit line was increased by having it automatically done in several instances and I have combined limits from other Chase cards twice.

AMEX Green Corporate - NPSL | AMEX Everyday - $35,000
Chase Sapphire Reserve Visa Infinite - $31,500 | Chase Freedom Visa Signature - $27,300
Best Buy (Citi) Card - $15,000 | USAA Platinum Visa - $21,000 | Amazon Store Card - $3,800
