Are secured credit cards typically reported to CRAs as secured?
There is not a category for it, It would be in comments section. Some do, some don't.
Is there a particular bank or CU you want to know about.
I was under the assumption Capital One does not report as secured. I know BofA does report as secured.
Yes, Postal Family Credit Union here in cincinnati, ohio. I suspect I am gonna have to call and ask them and take their word for it. I'd rather not have that notation anywhere in my credit file. If anybody knows the answer to this question please reply. The bank that I am considering getting a secured credit card with is U.S. Bank. I have banked with them for the last 5 yrs. I believe their website said that nobody would know that the cc is secured but me but I am gonna double check that. Thanks for your help!
ba- reports as secured
usaa- does NOT report as secured
best to call the bank/cu + ask
Capital One does report as secured.
Not sure about U.S. Bank, I was declined for their secured card.
.
The website says "Only you know it’s secured. Use everywhere Visa is accepted." which means the card does not say secured. I would call about how it reports. .
If I remember right my Orchard secured card did not report secured on any of the CRA. My Wells Fargo secured only reports secured to TU. They don't really report secured it just has it in the notes saying it is secured.
I don't think it is that big of deal anyway. I think getting a decent secured card from a bank you like is more important.
Hey Jana, I'm not sure if all of them are, but I know that my Public Savings Bank secured Visa is reported as a regular credit card. There's nothing on my card that says "secured" either.
Hope this helps!
It does. Hey, thanks!
