income amount vs credit cards limits or CLI?

Hello, Everytime i ask for a cli they ask me for my income info and i say 35k but I dont got documents to prove that if asked because im self employed.

do you think there range between income and how high limit a person can have acording to his income. ?

Yes, income is considered in setting a limit, but like anything else, it is not the only factor.

Do you file taxes?  You can use your tax returns to prove your income.

Starting Score: ~500 (12/01/2008)
Current Score: EQ 681 (04/05/13); TU 98 728 (01/06/12), TU 08? 760 (provided by Barclay 1/2/14), TU 04 728 (lender pull 01/12/12); EX 742 (lender pull 01/12/12)

If you have high scores, sometimes you can get good CLs with a low income.

An example is a $15K CL with a $25K income.

LOL so you don't even file taxes? Wow.

Even if you are not filing taxes I suppose you could show them deposits of you have a bank account.

Why do you not have documemts/file taxes?

Some peoples' total CLs are higher than their annual income. Income is certainly a factor in your CLs, but it is not a cutoff.

Amex BCE 18k I Amex SPG 6k I CSP 8k I Chase Marriott 7k I Discover It 3.5k I Chase Freedom 2.1k

Credit cards are great when you don't need them.

If you add in all the unused cards I have because I used them for interest free loans, then my CL is higher than my income

Re: income amount vs credit cards limits or CLI?

As it was said, income is not the only factor in having your credit limit set.

Best example I can give is my grandmother; she has a total credit limit of ~$65,000, with a $16.7K income.

AMEX Hilton Ascend: $55,000 | Chase Sapphire Reserve: $30,000 | PNC Points: $17,500 | AMEX BCE (AU): $18,000 | AMEX BCP: $15,000 | US Bank Cash+ $15,000 | AMEX Business Prime: $14,000 | AMEX SimplyCash: $12,000 | Capital One QS: $13,500 | Chase Business Ink: $12,000 | PNC Everyday (AU): $12,000 | JCPenny Store Card: $10,500 | Chase Slate: $9,400 | Capital One QS: $6,500 | (2nd) US Bank Cash+ (2nd): $7,500 | Discover IT: $6,000 | Chase Freedom: $3,500 | Auto Lease: $0/$21,000 | Auto Loan: $0/$18,000 |
