is this a good idea?

i currently have a amex zync, chase sapphire prefered, and a discover more. i want to apply for a amex blue, and replace that with the discover and the chase, is that a good idea? the chase,amex, discover are all the same age.

in my wallet:
Amex Zync : NPSL (main card always pif)
Discover More: 6,500$ (no balance)
Chase Sapphire : 5000.00$ (no balance)
Citi Thank You Card backed by Amex 8,200$ (no balance)
Amex Blue Cash 21,000$
Best Buy Store Card : 5,700$ (I'm a nerd so used a lot)

i want to close the discover and the chase if im approved for the amex blue, the chase has a 100$ annual fee and the discover is a low limit

Why not garden the Discover and ask for CLI's in the future?

we have a very similar credit card mix. I've thought about closing my discover as well, but it's a great company and there is no annual fee. Have you already used your csp sign-up bonus? Because that should more than cover the 95 dollars. Plus it's such a high credit line and it looks cool...

Isn't it possible to convert the Sapphire Preferred to the standard Sapphire to avoid the annual fee?  I think you could do that.  Also, Amex Blue will backdate to year you opened your first Amex, so it may not hurt AAoA much or could even help it.
