my limit was $2,500 and i just called BOA and they did increase my CL to 5,000 which i requested. It took them 3 mins to make that decision! I have been asking them for the increase for 3 months now.. wooof! I also asked him if it was a hard pull on my report and he answered yes althouhg i had an CL limit increase without an inquiry last year, will see if that shows on my report.
Congrats on the CLI. I want to get 5000 on my BOA card. I have the Power Rewards Visa. Currently it's at 1000. I will have my account open 6 months in December. What are my chances getting the 5000. I use my card heavly and pay the balance out every two weeks since my CL is so low.
I'd your chances are pretty good. CaIl the back door number listed here and you'll get direct to one of their account specialists.
I started with a $5000 CL when I opened in December, and now I called last week and requested $10,000. He asked me my income, and why I wanted the CLI. I was honest and just told him that I was charging a lot to the card, and I would like to keep my credit utilization percentage low.
He looked through my account history and saw that I was charging $3-4000/month and paying it off each month, excepted for one month where I carried a small balance. He said he understood and that he'll check my credit report (hard pull) and see what he could do.
Three minutes later.. viola! $10,000 CL.
What phone number did you call at BOA to get the CLI?
They turned me down a few times and I am getting tired of them
I called this number:
just got a credit limit increase myself!
i just got off a 22-hour train ride to florida on vacation.. and during the night, i applied for a CLI for my humane society visa which was at $1500. for the first time in 3.5 years, i didn't get rejected instantly. i got the "call today for an instant decision!" message. just got off the phone with "peggy" who had a really sweet voice, and granted me my request of an increase to $2500.
bad news is that it was a hard inquiry. she told me that as of this year, all of their CLI requests will be hard inquiries. not sure how true that is, but i'm hoping my credit scores is okay. just got approved for amex zync on wednesday, and applied for a sallie mae loan last month...
i think i'll just chill out for now, until april when my AF kicks in. then i'll try to do a PC to a cash rewards card. secretly, this will only be my backup card in case i NEED to take time to pay something off.
so excited!
