just got added as an AU on Amex!

So excited for this to show on my report! Should've done this a long time ago, but finally got added to one of my dads Amex card. No lates ever, and did I mention its backdated since '83? Smiley Happy I'm hoping it gives a big jump on my score. But I have a question, I was born in 89 will it still backdate from 83?

Re: just got added as an AU on Amex!

My aunt added me to an Amex dated 1981, the card says "Member since '11", but it reports as 10/1981, best of all, I was born in 1991.

If I get someone to add me as an AU on their 1990  AMEX account, will I be able get my own 2009 AMEX account backdated to 1990?

YMMV.  There are multiple threads with people reporting that they've been able to have their accounts backdated to the date of the AU account, and there are people that were told by Amex that it doesn't work that way.  Usually the situation is a little different though, it is someone being added as an AU and then applying for a new account as opposed to trying to backdate an existing account after being added as an AU.
